This Privacy Policy applies to the Heartopia Companion App on iOS and Android. The app is an unofficial, fan-made companion and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the developers or publishers of Heartopia.
We aim to collect as little personal information as possible. Most app preferences and progress stay only on your device.
Information used by the app
Information stored on your device
The app stores the following information locally so that your settings and progress are available when you return:
- Your selected game server and time setting.
- Your hobby levels.
- Your collection, star and mastery progress.
- Your saved map bookmarks and selected marker choices.
- Temporary access earned by watching rewarded advertisements.
This locally stored information is not sent to us. You can remove it by clearing the app's data or uninstalling the app.
Bug reports and suggestions
If you choose to send a bug report or suggestion, the app sends the information you enter to Google Firebase. This can include:
- The report type, title and description.
- An optional reply email address.
- Your selected Heartopia server.
- Whether you are using iOS or Android.
- The date and time of submission.
The app does not attach a device identifier to feedback submissions. Please do not include passwords, payment information or other sensitive personal information in a report.
Administrative access
The app contains a private administrator sign-in used only by the app operator to update shared weather information. Firebase Authentication processes the administrator's credentials. Ordinary users are not asked to create an account.
Advertising and consent
The app uses Google AdMob to display banner advertisements and optional rewarded advertisements. Rewarded advertisements are shown only after you choose to watch one in exchange for temporary access to a feature or cosmetic marker.
The Google Mobile Ads SDK may automatically collect and share an IP address, app and advertisement interactions, diagnostic information, and device or account identifiers. Google uses this information for advertising, analytics, measurement, security and fraud prevention. An IP address may be used to estimate a device's general location; the app does not request your device's precise location.
Where required, the app asks for consent before requesting personalised advertising. If you do not consent, Google may show limited or non-personalised advertisements where available. Advertising choices can also be affected by your device settings.
Your privacy choices and rights
You can:
- Review or change applicable advertising consent choices from Settings → Advertising Privacy in the app.
- Change advertising permissions or identifiers through your iOS or Android device settings.
- Avoid providing an email address when sending feedback; the field is optional.
- Clear locally stored settings and progress by clearing the app's data or uninstalling it.
- Request access to, correction of, or deletion of feedback that can reasonably be matched to you.
To make a privacy request, email us using the address below. Include enough information to identify the relevant feedback, but do not send passwords or identification documents. We may need to ask for limited additional information to verify and complete the request.
Retention, security and international processing
Local settings and progress remain on your device until you clear the app's data or uninstall it. Feedback and optional reply email addresses are retained only as long as reasonably needed to investigate the report, reply, improve the app, prevent abuse or meet legal obligations. They are normally deleted or anonymised within 24 months, unless a longer period is required for a legal or security reason.
Advertising information is retained by Google according to Google's policies and your applicable privacy settings.
We use reasonable safeguards and trusted service providers to protect information. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Google Firebase and AdMob may process information in countries outside your own, subject to their legal and contractual safeguards.
Children's privacy
The app is not specifically directed to children under 13, or the equivalent minimum age in their country. We do not knowingly ask children to provide personal information. A child should not enter an email address or personal details in feedback without permission from a parent or guardian.
If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so that we can review and delete it where appropriate.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when the app changes or when legal and service-provider requirements change. The updated date at the top of this page will show when the policy was last revised.
